  • Submission Deadline:  30th of July 2025
  • Expected Publication: 30th of August 2025.

The JORMA International Journal of Health and Social Sciences  invites submissions for a special issue titled Decolonial Trajectories. This issue aims to foreground critical scholarship that interrogates the entrenched colonial logics that continue to shape higher education and knowledge production globally, with a particular emphasis on the global South.

This special Issue  seeks contributions that push the boundaries of disciplinary conventions, offer decolonial theoretical innovations, and advance the practice of decolonial scholarship in response to contemporary socio-political and economic challenges.

Submissions may draw from a wide range of methodological approaches and should aim to contribute to curriculum transformation, knowledge justice, and the broader project of decolonial liberation. We welcome interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary submissions.

Possible themes include (but are not limited to):

  • Decolonial approaches to curriculum design and pedagogy
  • Epistemic disobedience and knowledge pluralisation
  • Indigeneity, sovereignty, and academic resistance
  • The role of higher education in social and political transformation
  • Critiques of neoliberalism and coloniality in academic institutions
  • Knowledge production, access, and power in the Global South
  • Intersections of race, class, gender, and colonial violence in educational contexts

This special issue aims to serve as a space for critical dialogue, intellectual resistance, and scholarly activism. Submissions that centre Indigenous knowledges, lived experiences, and community-engaged research are especially encouraged.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Manuscripts should be between 2000-3000 words.
  • Please submit your manuscript via the same above link. You will need to register your details first.
